The crazy copter project has a simple target: get a piece of PCB to fly .
We are building a very little quad-copter which has its PCB as main mechanical armature. The first version of this copter is named CrazyFlie:
Its main characteristics are:
- STM32 Cortex-M3 main CPU
- 3 Axis accelerometer
- 1+2 axis gyroscopes
- 2.4Ghz Nordic radio chip
- Motors, propeller and battery of Silverlit X-Twin plane
The copter is controlled from a PC via a USB radio dongle. Three copters are actually built (one per project member) and most of the firmware is written. We still have to fix the regulation and PC control in order to get a stable flight.
